Andrew Taylor '10

MBA

Andrew Taylor finished his MBA in 2010. He is now a benefits consultant for Gallagher Benefit Services and the owner of Pure Life Expeditions, an adventure travel business with excursions to Costa Rica. Andrew said Westminster taught him critical, analytical and integrative thinking by requiring him to track, reevaluate, and adjust every decision he makes. In terms of leadership and teamwork, he said that in a group setting, the person he respected the most was usually the person who took the less glamorous work in the group; they also often ended up being the person to understand the project the most, a principle that he uses frequently in his work. Last year, Andrew and some friends created a fundraising website for Choice Humanitarian: “We used a fun subject, men growing mustaches, to help Choice eradicate poverty in third world countries” including Mexico, Guatemala, Kenya, and Nepal, he said. This was a fun and rewarding experience for him, as he fostered a lasting relationship with the nonprofit and further developed his dedication to global awareness.
