Career Resource Center Works for Current Students and Alumni

Career Resource Center Working with AlumniWestminster College ranks first among Utah schools for providing graduates with job opportunities, according to a recent report by the Utah Foundation. The same study showed Westminster had the largest percent of graduates earning salaries above $30,000.

How does this happen? The success of our graduates in the workplace is due partly to the kind of academic experience they receive. But Westminster also prepares students for the workforce with programs offered through the Career Resource Center—many of which are available to alumni as well. So the resources for alumni making a job or career move continue long after graduation.

The Career Resource Center offers alumni one-on-one career counseling and access to the online job board and Employment Wizard, where alumni can post resumes and search for open positions in specific fields.
The Career Resource Center also involves alumni in providing current students with valuable insights into the professional world. Alumni are invited to participate in events such as serving on career panels, conducting mock interviews, and representing their companies at the annual Career Fair. Alumni are also encouraged to post open positions and hire Westminster students as interns through the Career Resource Center. In addition, the Career Shadowing course during May Term offers students an opportunity to observe a professional in the workplace. Whenever possible, we contact alumni who are willing to serve as mentors during this process.

The Career Resource Center has now partnered with Alumni and Parent Relations to develop an Alumni Mentoring Program to benefit students interested in finding out more about specific fields. With the help and support of alumni, our students can learn more about their areas of interest, make better decisions, and effectively transfer their academic learning into successful work experiences and ultimately, into meaningful careers. We are now accepting applications for the Alumni Mentoring Program. If you are interested please fill out the online form

If you are interested in participating in any of the other services or events, please contact the Career Resource Center at 801-832-2592.
