Dr. Vicki R. Whiting is a professor in the Gore School of Business at Westminster College and an award winning author for her patient advocacy book, "In Pain We Trust." Vicki has focused her work and educational experience in the area of organizational management, most specifically on organizational behavior, mentorship, negotiation, leadership and the global environment of the firm. Vicki's most recent research focuses on the role of multiple mentors on career development. She is also developing research in the area of global sustainable business management practices as well as patient centered health care. Vicki currently acts as an executive coach and management facilitator for numerous Fortune 50 organizations in addition to her graduate and undergraduate teaching.
Vicki has published articles in several business publications in addition to her experience as a speaker and consultant for organizations including IHC, HealthInsights, Hospital Corporation of America, United Therapeutics, Chevron, L-3 Corporation, AT&T, Lucent Technologies, R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co., The Mark Eaton Foundation.
Vicki received her doctoral degree from the Department of Management and Organization at the University of Southern California. As a doctoral candidate, Vicki received the prestigious Sample Fellowship award. Prior to her appointment at Westminster College, Vicki was an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Utah. She also has graduate and undergraduate teaching experience at The University of Southern California.
Vicki's work experience includes a career as Director of Technical Services at Digital Systems International as well as management positions in the insurance and computer systems industries. As Director of Technical Services, Vicki managed three departments made up of 75 professionals during the company's IPO and eventual acquisition by AT&T. Vicki received her bachelor's degree from the Colorado State University and graduated Phi Beta Gamma with her MBA degree from Seattle University.
