Smart and funny professor
This course helped me think about strategy from a few different perspectives that I might have otherwise overlooked.
The instructor had an different approach than I experience before - but I think it challenged the class in a good way.
Doug has been one of the best professors I have had in my time at Westminster. I love his passion for the subject, his perspectives are not centralized or isolated and he does a fantastic job of engaging you as an individual to think for yourself, not the opposite of anyone, but to be truthful to your own thoughts and then express them. If someone agrees, great for you. If they don't, not a big deal. He helped me to learn that my thoughts mattered and counted for something, even if only to me. It was tough, it was not text book, it was a struggle to keep up with the readings and understand how to put them into concepts that were personally relatable. Professor Peterson gave me that. A gift that I hope to share with others. I matter, what I think matters, and it is important to have perspective and to respect others perspective. Thank you! Thank you!

Great class enviornment-good discussions
Different perspectives of learning, different points of views on strategy, I thought it was a profitable course.
At times, the professor spoke in soft tones, not allowing me to fully hear what was being taught. Had I been sitting to the rear of the room, I doubt I would have been able to hear the lesson. However, the professor did ask in the beginnning and end of class, if there were any questions. I did respect that he did do that.
All my classmates were right on top of their games and knowledge.

This was a very interactive class!
It was very refreshing to be back in an academic setting. I enjoyed very much the conversations we had in class and the professor's humbleness and knowledge on the subject. It was also inspiring to hear my colleagues input on the material. We were a diverse group and it is improving my education to listen students speak from their professional experience.
The course forced me to be well prepared before each class, and made me read alot.
Dr. Peterson has a high level of respect for students and gives us the attention we need and respect we need to be able to feel open and discuss things openly

I must say that I learned the most from the papers that we presented. I only wish that I was able to go back and incorporate more of what I learned in this class on patents, diamonds, RATS, processes, CAGE, etc in my deep dive paper. It would have been beneficial to separate the due date between the 2 small papers and the deep dive paper. However, I did enjoy the readings and having our own team blog. I would like the blog to have threads so that it is easier to follow, but I do feel that it helped classmates to receive feedback on their thoughts and ideas.
in our course we had the ability to learn by experience. We were encouraged to implement what we learn in our course project. Everything that we went over in class built upon our previous courses.
The structure of the class was not there in the traditional sense. This was much more of a free-learning environment where the students were expected to engage themselves rather than read X and do Y. I liked it.
The instructor was very knowledge about the subject matter. He is well-traveled and was able to share many experiences with the class. Bringing in an outside speaker helped us better understand operating in a global economy. He also post to a blog which helped student interaction and raise some very interesting points. I enjoyed the class and the instructor very much!

liked the course. I thought the course case studies were applicable to what we learned in class. I thought the diamond, CAGE, and RATs were very helpful and were presented very well. I wish we could have gone over the RATs earlier in the course so that I could have better applied it to the readings.
The professor was excellent at making me think for myself. He did a really good job at explaining the confussing content.
I liked the blog. The visit by the Gore representative was also very good. My one suggestion is speak up! The lecture would start off fine then get more quiet and more quiet until no one can hear! When students ask the prof to talk louder, he does, then soon speaks more and more softly. The Prof has lots of interesting and applicable stories to share and we want to hear them.
I enjoyed the case studies gathered from a variety of industries and geographical regions. The Q&A session with Dr. B from Gore was very informative and demonstrated course concepts in the real world.
It is refreshing to get grades in a timely manner.
I was really suprised at how poorly the other students reacted to having to think for themselves. These students will not be successful if they need hand holding all their lives.
Organized- great course plan
Dr. Peterson is a professor I will always remember. I learned so much. He is an inteligent professor and I hope to take more classes from him.
Peterson is an interesting professor, he likes to relates to current events issues and involves the whole class in discussions, which facilitates learning.
Dr. Peterson has been able to take a difficult, multi-faceted topic and share it which all of the learners.
The course itself was divided in three sections: academic reading, case studies, and conversations in class. I have to be honest and say that even if I enjoyed reading the text manual, I found it too elevated for my knowledge. So perhaps a reevaluation of the text will be practical. I totally support the idea of academic and theory knowledge, but this specific text was too advanced for many of us who returned to school after several years of working. As I mentioned earlier listening to my colleagues' input was very important to me. Also, (and I'm very proud to say this) I was able to find the middle point to present my feedback on the different cases. Although I have my personal stand on corporation/monopolization/globalization, I was able to put things in perspective and offer constructive criticism or support. I think this is the best thing Dr. Peterson could've offer me as a student. So I thank him for that!
