Dr. John R. Contreras is the Director of the Public Health Program.  He is a graduate of Arizona State Univiersity and the University of Utah. Dr. Contreras also attended Johns Hopkins Universtiy. Dr. Contreras is a trained epidmiologists and has conducted numerous studies in infectious and chronic diseases.  Dr. Contreras also served as the manager of the public health command center during the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics. Dr. Contreras's research interests include a variety of public health areas, one area of current interest are cancer cluster investigations.
