ABOUT:
Kristi Jones has studied and taught in the fields of public K-6 and higher education for over twenty-five years. In the public schools, she has taught youth-in-custody, kindergarten, second, third, fourth, and fifth grades. Her M.A. is in Early Childhood Education, and her Ph.D. is in Cultural Foundations of Education with an emphasis on Literacy as Cultural Practice. Kristi has been conducting research on Critical Language Awareness in a Title I school for the past 10 years. As an Associate Professor in the School of Education at Westminter, Kristi teaches Developmental Teaching and Learning, Literacy Foundations for K-6 Teachers, and courses in the MED Reading Endorsement.
