Program Description, Eligibility Requirements, and Application Deadlines: The AIFS awards a number of scholarships to students in its study abroad programs: AIFS International Scholarships: These scholarships promote international understanding through study abroad. Up to 150 awards of $1,000 each are awarded annually, as well as up to 50 summer scholarships of $750 each. To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled in selected AIFS programs, be an undergraduate student with a GPA of 3.0 or above, show leadership potential, and be involved in extracurricular activities on multicultural or international issues. Applications for summer must apply by March 15th, for fall semester by April 15th and for spring semester by October 15th. AIFS Minority Scholarships: This program seeks to increase the participation of ethnic minority college students in study abroad activities. Full scholarships provide program fees plus round-trip transportation to selected AIFS study abroad program destinations. Applicants will be accepted from African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, Asian Americans, and Pacific Islanders. Candidates must be a currently enrolled undergraduate with a minimum GPA of a 3.0, demonstrate financial need, and be involved in extracurricular activities centered on multicultural or international issues. Application deadline is April 15 for the fall semester and October 15 for the spring semester. Premier Campus Scholarships: These scholarships of $1,500 are awarded each semester to students at AIFSs premier campuses in Granada, Grenoble, Paris, Salamanca, and Salzburg.
