Program Description and Application Deadline: The Explorers Club offers grants in two categories to support exploration and field research: The Exploration Fund: This program provides support of up to $5,000, primarily to graduate students who are interested in conducting scientific research that corresponds to the Clubs stated objectives to broaden our knowledge of the universe, either in the U.S. or overseas. The Fund will not support simple travel- recipients must submit a report of the results of their expedition within the year. Application deadline is January 31st. Youth Activities Fund: This program seeks to foster a new generation of explorers and build a reservoir of young people dedicated to the advancement and knowledge of the work through scientific field research. The Fund provides grants to high school and college students to enable them to participate in field research in the natural sciences under the supervision of a qualified scientist and/or institution. Grants range from $500 to $1,500 each. Application deadline is January 31st. |
