| Description: |
Twelve grants of $2,500 each for summer study of Albanian, Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian, Bulgarian, Czech, Estonian, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Polish, Romanian, Slovak or Slovene. Awards are intended for people who will use east European languages in academic research or teaching. Applicants must request support for beginning, intermediate, or advanced language study. Also, applicant will request the name of the institution they wish to attend along with a statement of the significance of their training for their career plans. |

" Applicants should show significant intentions to attend an intensive language courses offered by institutions of higher education in the U.S. or at the advanced level in courses in Eastern Europe. " Citizens or permanent residence of the U.S. " Completed a four-year college degree. |
