Program Description: This one year program is a cultural exchange designed to give participants an understanding of everyday life in Germany, a taste of how their professional counterparts are trained, and an opportunity to experience the German workplace in their career field. The program is comprised of three components: " Intensive German language study (about two months). " Classroom instruction at a German technical school or other institution of higher education (about four months). " An internship with a German company (about five to six months). Funding is provided for some incidental tuition, seminars, travel, and sickness and accident insurance. Recipients will need at least $300- $500 per month of their own for the program. Eligibility Requirements: Applicants between the ages of 18 and 24, who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and are in business, technical, vocational, and agricultural fields are eligible. Proficiency in German is not required but strongly encouraged. |
