Description:

Program Description: This program is intended for students interested in gaining significant training and front-line experience as out-of-school time teachers and community organizers. Fellows will work in the afternoons at a Citizen School campus in one of 10 communities across the U.S. and work in the morning at local civic, cultural, and educational Partner Organizations. Fellows will receive a salary of $19,200 per year, plus full health insurance coverage and modest housing assistance. Recipients who also qualify as AmeriCorps members may also receive a $4,725 Public Service Awards and qualify for student loan repayment deferrals. Eligibility Requirements: All applicants must be college graduates, U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens, and should be able to engage and organize peers and other adults to meet program goals and have outstanding written and oral communication skills.
