Program Description: Approximately 60 Predocotal Fellowships and 35 Dissertation Fellowships are awarded each year for study and research in the behavioral and social sciences, humanities, engineering, math, computer sciences, physical sciences, and biological sciences. Predoctoral fellowships are intended for students at or near the beginning of their graduate study. Each predoctoral award includes an annual stipend of $20,000 in lieu of tuition and fees, for a maximum of three years support. Dissertation Fellowships are intended for support of the final year of dissertation writing. The one year award consists of $21,000 stipend, plus all expenses paid to attend three Conferences of Ford Fellows. $40,000 is awarded to those applying for a Postdoctoral fellowship over one year.
