Description:

The mission of CHCIs Dream Scholarship program is to provide critical financial assistance to increase graduate rates among Latino students in post secondary education. The CHCI Alumni Association Dream Scholarship is funded by contributions from the Alumni Association and its sponsors. The scholarship is awarded to first-generation (first generation to go to college) immigrant students (not born in the U.S.) who have a history of involvement in public service-oriented activities in their communities and who demonstrate a desire to continue their civic engagement in the future. There is no GPA or major requirement. Students with leadership potential are encouraged to apply. Dream Scholarship Provides Recipients With: A one-time award of: - $2,500 to attend a four-year academic institution or - $1,000 to attend a community college or AA/AL granting institution Scholarship awards are intended to provide assistance with tuition, room and board, textbooks, and other educational expenses associated with college enrollment. Enrollment Requirement:

Eligibility Criteria -Students must be first generation and first in their immediate family to go to college; they must be immigrants (not born in the U.S.). -Students must be enrolled full-time in an accredited community college or four-year university during the period for which scholarship is requested -Students must demonstrate financial need -Students must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents -Students must demonstrate a history of consistent, active participation in public and/or community service activities.
