Description:

Environmental research technicians wanted to assist U of U graduate student with mercury research project in the Great Salt Lake watershed sponsored by Great Salt Lake Institute. One or two technician jobs are available depending on qualifications. Although job duties may overlap, one technician would primarily be involved with fieldwork and the other technician would primarily be involved with lab work. Preference will be given to those who are interested in both aspects of the job. Training will be provided in collecting snow, water, sediment and biological samples to using sophisticated analytical equipment at the University of Utah. The hours are flexible but will require approximately 10-20 hours per week during the school year and 20-40 hours per week over the summer. The ideal candidate will have a scientific background, an excitement for environmental research, and back country skiing experience.
