Emma Eccles Jones Conservatory

Completed in fall 2004, the Emma Eccles Jones Conservatory represents a dream come true for Westminster students, faculty, and staff, as well as a gift to the community. Every inch of the 35,000 square-foot award-winning facility has been meticulously designed and crafted to achieve acoustical excellence, visual excitement, and comfort.

Ground Breaking at the Eccles Conservatory

Some of the highlights of this state-of-the-art facility include the following:

Norman and Barbara Tanner Atrium
This open space is ideal for small musical performances, student, and other art exhibitions as well as dinners, receptions, and pre- and post-performance events.

Vieve Gore Concert Hall
At the heart of the facility, the 285-seat Vieve Gore Concert Hall serves as an intimate environment, ideal for performing and listening to musical performances. In addition to serving as a performance space, the Concert Hall boasts state-of-the-art connectivity with the Conservatory's in-house Recording Studio. A large movie screen and Internet access make the Concert Hall a perfect venue for conference sessions that require multimedia capabilities.

Dumke Student Theatre
Versatility is key in this 150-seat, black-box theatre. Stage and seating may be arranged in any configuration. A unique, open-wire tension grid installed 16 feet above the floor holds lighting and speakers, allowing set designers to safely walk on the grid and move equipment to achieve their desired visual effects.

Patrick C. Kibbie and Jennifer Kibbie Hiatt Rehearsal Hall and Recording Studio
With superb, flexible acoustics, wiring, and ample space, the studio functions as a center for creative interaction between musicians and the technologies that allow them to record their music. This space includes isolation booths for use during recording sessions Seven acoustically sound practice rooms offer the peace and quiet musicians and soloists, as well as students and instructors, need to make music free from distraction.
