Westminster College Moves Up In USNews Rankings
Westminster ranked 19th for “Best Universities (Masters–West)” & 13th for “Great Schools, Great Prices”
SALT LAKE CITY– U.S.News & World Report announced today that for the 14th consecutive year, Westminster College has been ranked as a top-tier institution in its annually published guidebook which highlights America’s top colleges and universities.
In the 2009 edition, Westminster has been ranked 19th in the category of “Best Universities - Masters” in the West, up four places from the previous year. Additionally, Westminster was recognized as a great value, ranking 13th on the list of “Great Schools, Great Prices” in this category.
“We are very pleased that our college continues to be recognized in USNews,” said Westminster President Michael Bassis. “We understand that this particular publication is important to prospective students and their parents, but we also realize that the rankings are not fully representative of the type of learning that actually occurs once a student enters college. We encourage families to not only look at the rankings of a prospective college, but to also consider other factors such as the learning environment, the accessibility of faculty, the campus community and the outcomes achieved by their graduates.”
