April 23, 2007

Westminster College is one of the nation’s best values for undergraduate education according to The Princeton Review. Westminster is featured in the 2008 edition of “America’s Best Value Colleges,” which goes on sale today. Rated among more than 4,500 schools nationwide, Westminster is in the top 165 according to the Princeton Review. The ranking is based on the excellent academics, generous financial aid packages, and relatively low cost of attendance Westminster offers students.

President Michael Bassis remarked, “Westminster’s educational mission is focused on creating a challenging and supportive educational environment for our students. We are pleased that our hard work and deep commitment to our students is reflected in this ranking. As Utah’s only private, comprehensive liberal arts college, we hope to continue to be a unique point of pride for the state of Utah as our national reputation continues to grow.” This year Westminster joins the ranks of 90 public and 74 other private colleges.

"Says Robert Franek, V.P-Publishing, The Princeton Review, "We considered over 30 factors to identify our 'best value' colleges. They covered four areas: Academics, Tuition GPA (the sticker price minus average amount students receive in scholarships and grants), Financial Aid (how well colleges meet students' financial need), and Student Borrowing. The 90 public and 75 private colleges we chose for this edition offer a terrific education, plus they have impressive records of meeting students' needs for financial aid. We highly recommend them as America's best college education deals for 2007." The entire list of schools can be viewed at www.PrincetonReview.com.
