Westminster Announces Transfer Incentive Award

New incentive award provides additional scholarship funds to transfer students

SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster is making its top-ranked education even more affordable through a new Transfer Incentive Award (TIA). Twenty eligible transfer students can receive $2,500 in addition to their already generous merit-based scholarships. The deadline to apply for the TIA is April 20, 2012.

Recognizing students’ financial needs in a difficult economy, Westminster is offering the $2,500 incentive award in addition to the $5,000–$11,000 academic scholarships already available to transfer students. Every year nearly 300 students transfer to Westminster to take advantage of the college’s high-quality liberal arts and professional programs, along with its faculty-to-student ratio and rich opportunities for career success.

“Transfer students enrich our community of learners and are an important part of the campus community,” said Gary Daynes, interim vice president for enrollment management. “The Transfer Incentive Award makes the opportunity to obtain a nationally recognized education even more affordable for transfer students and their families.”

To be eligible for the TIA, transfer students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and be admitted to Westminster College. TIA essay applications must be a minimum of 500 words and be received by April 20, 2012. The student must complete an interview on campus by telephone or Skype. Recipients will be notified by May 25, 2012. This offer is only available for students enrolling in the fall 2012 term. TIA is not valid towards BBA tuition.

Transfer students can set up an interview by calling 801.832.2200 or by emailing admission@westminstercollege.edu. For more details visit www.westminstercollege.edu/tia.
