Westminster Student-Founded Businesses Place in the Utah Student 25

Band management and biological tools companies place in the top 25 of Utah’s student-founded businesses
SALT LAKE CITY – Four Westminster students were recently recognized by the Utah Student 25 awards program for creating some of the state’s top student-founded businesses. The Utah Student 25 recognizes the top student-founded businesses in Utah and helps winners better publicize their achievements, while encouraging economic growth and job creation in the state of Utah.
Westminster student Chris Kilbourne placed 9th for his company, Monolith Management, a band management company that provides artists with management support—no matter where they live, how many fans they have, or what type of music they play. Monolith currently has over 125 domestic and international clients.
Westminster student Christopher Hopkins placed 12th for his company Knudra Transgenics. Knudra creates innovative biological tools for life science discovery. Knudra uses a proprietary technology to bioengineer nematodes as tools to study disease biology and discover sample toxicity.
In addition to the top 25 student-founded business awards, Westminster’s James Jackson and Levi Chase were recognized under the “emerging company” category for their company, Torq Development Company. Their business is a unique power train company that specializes in out-of-the-box solutions to put engine power to the ground. They build axle assemblies for high-end professional race applications and recreational off road vehicles.
