Four Westminster Students Compete in 2011 World Snowboarding Championships
Students spent more than a week in Spain during competition

SALT LAKE CITY – Four Westminster students were among 21 U.S. athletes who competed in the 2011 World Snowboarding Championships. The Championships opened January 15th in La Molina, Spain and ran for eight days with six different events showcasing the sport’s top riders.
Westminster students who competed in the event were:
Vic Wild- Alpine Snowboarding Men
Heather Herde- Alpine Snowboarding Women
Paul Brichta- Big Air, Halfpipe and Slopestyle Men
Lizzy Beerman- Halfpipe and Slopestyle Women
Westminster currently has more than 50 students on the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team who compete in a variety of disciplines, from snowboarding to cross-country skiing. Westminster is the Official Provider of Educational Services to the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team and offers a USSA Tuition Grant program to all current USSA national athletes and qualifying alumni.
