SALT LAKE CITY
– Looking for somewhere fun, yet educational, to send your child this summer? Well look no further, Westminster College has a plethora of camps for youth of all ages and interests that are created to entertain and educate. From flying airplanes to playing the cello, this year’s summer camp lineup is the most exciting yet!

Westminster offers six types of summer camps that are open to the public, including:

College Experience Camps (July 10-16): These interactive, hands-on academic camps are taught by Westminster’s first-rate faculty to give high school students a true taste of college life. Participants live on campus and have the opportunity to learn more about themselves and meet other students with similar interests. Students can also earn college credit upon completion of the camps. These camps are limited to students entering grades 9-12. Prices vary and scholarships are available.

Camps include:

Aviation Camp
Money 101 Camp
Writing Your World Camp

Outdoor Recreation Camp (July 10-16): Westminster’s Outdoor Recreation Camp invites campers to participate in a week of fantastic outdoor adventures, including rock climbing, hiking, backpacking and kayaking. Students will learn the basics of climbing at the college's 46-foot indoor wall and then head to the Cottonwood Canyons to experience Utah’s world famous rock climbing. Participants will stay in the college's residential halls for the week. The camp is open to students 15-17 years old. Cost is $475, which includes food, lodging, activities and gear.

Blue Sky Music Camp (July 18-22) This is the newest addition to Westminster’s camp lineup. This exciting camp is open to students, ages 11 to 18 years old, and educators. The camp will include a whirlwind week of traditional Celtic, American folk, swing and gypsy jazz music. Students are encouraged to bring their voice, fiddle guitar, cello, viola, mandolin, bass, banjo…or whatever they play, and share in the excitement of folk music. This camp will help students find and magnify their own creativity and love for music, while augmenting their skills in a healthy, engaging environment. The camp is $300 for students and $50 for educators.

Camp Great Salt Lake (July 12-17): Westminster’s Great Salt Lake Institute invites campers to spend a few days as a scientist examining the extreme environment of GSL. The residential camp will give campers hands-on experiences and will help students answer questions like: How does the lake harness sunlight? What lab techniques can we use to detect life? Do the brine shrimp really look like sea monkeys? The camp is open to high school juniors and seniors. Cost is TBD.

AWE+SUM Camps (June 27-29): Exclusively for girls entering the 8th grade this fall. Students will spend three fun-filled days on the beautiful Westminster College campus and discover just how fun and cool math and science can be! In addition to the workshops, campers will play volleyball, take hikes by the creek and enjoy meals in the student center. Several Westminster female math and science faculty and students will assist with the workshops. In the residential halls, there will be two girls per room and several adult counselors. Cost is $100 and scholarships are available.

Athletic Camps (Varied Dates): These camps offer students a variety of sports to choose from and are open to grades 1-12. From soccer to volleyball, young athletes will receive training and advice from Westminster athletics coaches and players. Both overnight and day camp options are available. Athletic camps include:
