Westminster Appoints New Director for the Institute for New Enterprise

SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster recently appointed Linda Muir as director for the Institute for New Enterprise. In her new role as director, Muir will managing the day-to-day details of the institute including fundraising activities, sponsor relations, development of entrepreneurial programs, marketing and recruitment of mentors. Muir, who previously served as associate director, will continue to expand community participation in current programs and seek additional programs that foster support for budding entrepreneurs.

Westminster launched the Institute for New Enterprise in the spring of 2007 to build on its strong reputation in business education, and to serve students with a well-rounded platform for success in corporate, new business and social entrepreneurship.

Muir received both a Master of Business Administration and her undergraduate degree in marketing from Westminster College. Her marketing background includes experience with corporations including Franklin Covey, Intel and Bell & Howell, as well as starting and working in several small new business ventures. She became the first director of the Miller Business Innovation Center, a business incubator, which she modeled into a center that provides vital resources necessary to effectively and efficiently launch new business ventures. Muir is a founding member of the Women Technology Council and sits on the Utah Business Lending Corporation credit committee.
