The Chronicle of Higher Education Recognizes Westminster for employee satisfaction
SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster College is one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to a new survey by the Chronicle of Higher Education. This is the fourth consecutive year the college has been selected for this honor.
The results are based on a survey of more than 46,000 employees at 294 colleges and universities. Westminster is among the top 103 institutions to earn the recognition.
Westminster employees gave the college high marks in six different categories, including job satisfaction and teaching environment. In the survey, Westminster employees lauded the school in the following categories:
*Compensation and benefits
*Confidence in senior leadership
*Facilities, workspace and security
*Job satisfaction
*Professionalism/career development programs
*Teaching environment
“Our faculty and staff are the heart of this institution, so providing a quality work environment that allows them to focus on our students and their learning is a top priority,” said Dr. Brian Levin-Stankevich, Westminster College president. “During the recession, we have been fortunate to avoid hiring freezes, and have even increased our faculty/staff positions and pay over the past few years.”
The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institutional audit that captured demographics and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.
To administer the survey and analyze the results, the Chronicle worked with ModernThink
LLC, a strategic human capital consulting firm that has conducted numerous “Best Places to
Work” programs, surveying hundreds of thousands of employees nationwide.
