Danny Reeder and Shalee Fackrell Player of the Year

Jared Ruiz and Nick Booth Named to First Team All-Conference. Shannon Evans is Named Freshman of the Year


Danny Reeder and Shalee Fackrell were named Frontier Conference "Player of the Year" the conference announced today. Reeder, a 5'10" sophomore from Alta High School in Salt Lake City, averaged 15.46 points and 6.73 assists per game.

Reeder led his team to a 24-7 record and a #18 NAIA national ranking. Reeder also ranks third in NAIA Division I assists per game and ninth in the country in free throw percentage (.844).

Shalee Fackrell, a senior from Heber City, Utah, led all NAIA Division I scorers, averaging 26.48 points per game.

Fackrell was first in the conference and fifth in the nation in rebounding, averaging 10.55 rebounds per contest. Fackrell shot 53% from the field on 264-497 shooting for the season. She also made it to the free throw line 288 times, making 240 of her attempts (.833).

Fackrell led her team to its most wins in school history (16).

Jared Ruiz and Nick Booth also received All-Conference honors by being named to the 1st Team along with Reeder.

Booth, a 6'4" junior from Riverton High School in Riverton, Utah, averaged 17.0 points per game and 7.48 rebounds per game. Booth made 169-260 field goals (.650) on the year which places him fourth in the nation.

Ruiz, a 6'3" senior from Taylorsville, Utah averaged 15.89 points per game on 162-320 shooting (.506), including 58-123 from the three-point line; Ruiz also averaged 4.85 rebounds per game.

Shannon Evans, a 5'8" freshman from Morgan, Utah, was named "Freshman of the Year" in the Frontier Conference. Evans averaged 9.86 points, 4.72 assist, and 3.41 rebounds per game.

The women’s season ended last weekend in the Frontier Conference Tournament; the men will learn Wednesday who they will play in the first round of the NAIA National Tournament on March 15th in Kansas City, Missouri.
