Westminster College President Appoints Robert Seltzer as New Assistant
Salt Lake City-September 18, 2003-Westminster College President Michael Bassis appointed Robert Seltzer as Special Assistant to the President. Seltzer will handle a wide variety of special projects, involving inter-institutional, community and government relationships, communication between the President's Office and external constituencies, and special projects related to the implementation of Westminster's new strategic plan.
Seltzer holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Public Address from Wayne State University, an MA from Illinois State University and a BA from Marietta College. He was a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Detroit and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for ten years, from 1968-1978. Subsequently, he spent 18 years working in Washington, D.C. His work included serving as a senior legislative staff member in the U.S. Senate and as a partner in a D.C.-based political consulting firm. Most recently, Seltzer was the executive director for the Utah Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies.
