CEDAR CITY - Christopher Quinn from Westminster College will conduct the school's Chamber Singers Spring 2004 Tour in the Cedar City, St. George and Las Vegas Areas.

The 21-member ensemble is a selective group with a musical repertoire that includes everything from classical to spirituals and contemporary to Broadway show tunes.

"This is a rare and exciting opportunity for the public, and especially Westminster College alumni and friends who live in Cedar City and the surrounding areas to see our magnificent chamber singers perform and to reconnect with the college and their fellow alumni in the area," said Nancy Michalko, vice president of institutional advancement.

Since the choir's inception in 1996, the Westminster Chamber Singers have been in high demand. Their performances have been recorded for diverse media, including a "Touched by an Angel" episode with the internationally acclaimed singer Charlotte Church. They were also represented in Washington, D.C. at the nation's Capital Bicentennial Celebration and National Festival of the States, which culminated in their first CD recording.

Furthermore, the Chamber Singers recently debuted at Carnegie Hall in New York, performing under the direction of world-renowned composer John Rutter.

"The performances that the Chamber Singers have planned will be a real treat for the entire community in and around Cedar City," Quinn said. "I will also be looking for talented young people who are interested in attending Westminster College in the future and becoming a part of our distinguished music program."

Alumni are encouraged to participate in light dinners and social gatherings to be held I advance of each concert for Westminster alumni and friends of the college living in Southern Utah. Westminster College is the only private, comprehensive liberal arts college in Utah. U.S. News & World Report consistently ranks Westminster in the top tier of regional colleges and universities in the West, and as an excellent educational value.
