Phase I: DIDACTIC COURSES (12 months) 

Year 1 TERM 1 FALL (Aug. – Dec.) 
-Physiology I (5 credits) Cellular, membrane & tissue mechanism. Physiology/pathophysiology of Muscle & Endocrine Systems

-Chemistry/Physics (3 credits)  Chemistry/Physics related to Anesthesia
-Pharmacology I (3 credits) Basic principles of pharmacoloy; uptake, distribution, eliminiation
- Anatomy Review (3 credits) Gross anatomy review with emphasis on CNS, cardiorespiratory, hepatorenal system

Year 1 TERM 2 SPRING (Jan. - May)
-Physiology II (5 credits) Physiology/pathophysiology of Respiratory, Cardiovascular, Nervous Systems
-Pharmacology II (4 credits) Pharmacology related systems & anesthesia
-Research Methods (3 credits) Research process
-Professional Aspects (3 credits) Topics related to the practice of nurse anesthesia

Year 1 TERM 3 - SUMMER (June - July)
-Anesthesia Principles I (5 credits) Intro to anesthesia: perioperative assessment, monitoring, Airway & fluid management, positioning
-Simulator Lab (2 credits)  Interactive Human Simulation exercise

Phase II: CLASSES DURING CLINICAL ROTATIONS: (15 Months) Clinical Rotations begin September Year 2 and go
through December Year 3

Year 2 TERM 4 FALL (Aug – Dec.)
-Anesthesia Principles II (2 credits) Advanced anesthesia related to Cardiorespiratory and CNS
-Anesthesia Seminar I (1 credit) Research articles, Case-Studies 
-Clinical Practicum  (4 credits)

Year 2 TERM 5 -SPRING (Jan – May)
-Anesthesia Principles III (2 credits)  Advanced anesthesia related to geriatric, regional, HEENT, Hepatorenal systems
-Anesthesia Seminar II (1 credit)  Research articles, case studies, simulation exercises
-Clinical Practicum (4 credits)

Year 2 TERM 6 SUMMER (June - July)
-Anesthesia Principles IV (2 credits) Advanced anesthesia related to OB, peds, trauma, misc. disorders
Which influence anesthesia practice
-Anesthesia Seminar III (1 credit) Research articles, case studies, simulation exercises
-Clinical Practicum (4 credits)

Year 3 TERM 7 FALL (Aug - Dec)
-Research Practicum (3 credits) Completion/presentation of research projects
-Special Topics in Anesthesia (1 credits) Pain management, difficult airway workshops, research articles,
