Please join us for the Westminster Executive Leadership Lecture Series, sponsored by Wells Fargo. The series features nationally renowned speakers who are experts in their field and who address issues and trends pertaining to today’s business environment. Receptions begin at 6:00 PM in the Richer Alcove of the Jewett Center for the Performing Arts. Lectures take place in the Vieve Gore Concert Hall and are free and open to the public.

Barry McCaffrey served in the United States Army for 32 years and retired as a four-star general in 1996. He was the commander of all US troops in Latin America, a commander in the Gulf War, served two tours in Vietnam, and was assistant to Colin Powell at the National Security Council. He was the most highly decorated serving general, with two Distinguished Service Crosses, two Silver Stars, and three Purple Hearts. For five years after leaving the military, McCaffrey served as the nation’s “Drug Czar,” the cabinet officer in charge of US drug policy. After leaving government service, McCaffrey served as Professor of International Security Studies at West Point. He conducts many study missions to Iraq, Afghanistan, the Middle East, Latin America, and Mexico and is regularly invited to the Pentagon and the White House for discussions and reports. He is a highly sought expert in the media on national security, the war against terror, and drug policy.

Jim Rogers serves as chairman, president, and chief executive officer for Duke Energy, the nation’s largest electric power company, delivering electricity to approximately seven million customers in the Southeast and Midwest. The company also distributes natural gas in Ohio and Kentucky. Rogers has served as a CEO in the utility industry for more than 23 years. During that period, he has delivered an average total shareholder return of more than 12 percent per year by focusing on sustainable growth and executing a series of well-timed mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. In 2009, Newsweek named him one of “The 50 Most Powerful People in the World.”
