Bridget M. Newell, Associate Provost for Diversity and Global Learning, earned her Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from Miami University in Ohio and her Ph.D. in Philosophy from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she specialized in feminist theory and ethics. She has taught numerous courses in philosophy, diversity, and gender studies, and after working as a writing consultant and professional writer, also taught undergraduate and graduate courses in writing and professional communication. Bridget has played a significant role in developing Westminster's Diversity Lecture Series, Gender Studies program, and Diversity Council, and for many years has led the College in conversations about enhancing its focus on diversity-related issues. Her current role integrates her focus on diversity with internationalization of campus.
In her spare time Bridget needs to burn off energy working out or running. She is also a huge fan of escaping to the beach. When she finds time and is in the right fame of mind, she sews.
