International Internships, Work, and Volunteering Abroad
An international internship is a great opportunity to specific career-related international experience. This type of internship can also lead to improved understanding of global issues and international competence. In order for your international internship to count towards a Westminster degree, you must earn academic credit for the internship and this must be arranged in advance with the Director of Student International Services and the Career Resource Center at Westminster.
CDS International The Internship Program in Germany provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain international work experience in Germany, improve their German language skills and experience German culture firsthand. Most internships are paid and scholarships are available to qualified participants that receive unpaid internships.
Department of State The U.S. Department of State offers undergraduate student internships in Washington D.C. and abroad.

Rotary The Ambassadorial Scholarships program promotes international understanding and friendly relations among people of different parts of the world. The scholarships sponsor undergraduate and graduate students, as well as qualified professionals pursuing vocational studies. While abroad, scholars serve as goodwill ambassadors to the country where they study and give presentations about their own culture to Rotary clubs and other groups. Back home, scholars share with Rotarians and others the experiences that deepened their understanding of another culture.

Work and Teach Abroad
If you are looking solely to have the experience of living and working or teaching abroad and you don’t need academic credit, there are some options that might be less expensive or appropriate for recent graduates..
BUNAC BUNAC is the best way to get work permission without a job offer. Work and volunteer abroad placements are available in Britain, Ireland, France, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
CIEE Teach Abroad Work overseas and teach English abroad in Chile, China, the Dominican Republic, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, or Vietnam with CIEE.
TaLK (Teach and Learn in Korea) & EPIK (English Teaching Program in Korea) English teaching opportunities in South Korea (elementary and secondary levels). Provides in-country orientation, monthly stipend, round-trip flight, health insurance, and acommodations. 6 month or 12 month contract periods beginning in August or February.
HELP! Heslington Language Programs Teach English and earn TESOL certification in Mexico. Experience Mexican culture and language in year-round programs (summer, fall, and winter semesters) with housing, meals, and airfare provided.
JET Programme The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme aims to promote grass roots internationalization at the local level by inviting young overseas graduates to assist in international exchange and foreign language education in Japan.
French Culture Teach English in France! Are you ready to expand your cultural horizons and share your language and culture with French students? The Teaching Assistant Program in France offers you the opportunity to work in France for 7 months, teaching English to French students of all ages. Each year, nearly 1,500 American citizens and permanent residents teach in public schools across all regions of metropolitan France and in the overseas departments of French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique and Réunion.
