PAPERCUT CAMPAIGN
A campus-wide paper reduction effort by the Campus Sustainability Fellows.
DID YOU KNOW?
Over 10 MILLION trees are cut down EVERY DAY to make paper.
The US uses nearly 2 BILLION trees for paper every year, and THROWS AWAY about half of it.
Westminster College spends over $29,000 on paper every year!
In Westminster's library, over 100,000 pages are printed every MONTH!

2. Ask teachers if you can submit homework electronically.
3. Use a laptop for readings and note-taking.
4. Only print what you need.
5. Check over the document before you hit print to eliminate multiple prints for mini-mistakes.
6. Print multiple PowerPoint slides per page.
Tips for Faculty:

2. Post syllabi, readings and assignments on Canvas or using eReserve.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT COPY/PRINT JOBS
In accordance with the campus-wide paper reduction campaign, PaperCut, the following changes are now in effect:
1. Print requests to the Print Shop and most printers on campus will now DEFAULT to DOUBLE-SIDED. If you need a single-sided print, you must specify.
2. As of May 2009, the Print Shop will begin reducing the supply of non-recyclable ultra-bright paper colors, except for school colors.
3.The goal is always to buy paper that has at least some recycled content. The majority of white paper bought is 30% recycled content. When recycled content paper is unavailable, paper that was made using wind or solar power is often bought instead.
