The ideas we engage in the classroom are examined and lived in the physical
environment we share. Faculty and students work together on a variety of projects that
connect our learning to the realities of our particular place.
The Westminster College campus itself provides opportunity for several different types of environmental field study.
"Students in the Environmental Studies program are enriched through experiential learning.
They also learn how to share their findings and their stories through the written word and
through professional presentations." --Dr. David Stanley
Emigration Creek runs between campus and the
residential village. Science students routinely
gather invertebrate samples from the creek,
which they study in the Eccles Lab. Click here for the video.
Westminster Science faculty are developing a research program that will give students opportunity to study in a tropical forest in Costa Rica. Click here to see some of Dr. Judy Rogers' photos.
