A Utahn through and through, Brett is originally from Murray, just ten minutes from the Westminster campus. While at Westminster, Brett has certainly had his hands full – he has been hard at work balancing both an academic career and an athletic one.
A four-year member of Westminster’s lacrosse team, Brett has received recognition as both an MCLA Academic All-American athlete and an MCLA National Scholar Athlete. For this past school year, Brett was team captain of the Westminster lacrosse team and has acted as the President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for the past three years.
A biology major and chemistry minor, Brett has served as a Westminster College Senior Research Team Leader under the supervision of Dr. Judy Rodgers, performing research in conjunction with Salt Lake City’s Tracy Aviary.
He has interned as a gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analyst for UT-Laboratories, and volunteered at the Huntsman Cancer Institute with the BRIGHT research project, among others.
Recently receiving a job with ARUP Laboratories post-graduation, Brett plans to apply to medical school in hopes of becoming an orthopedic surgeon or to earn a Master’s degree in Biochemistry.
To put it briefly, “One of the best decisions of my life was to attend Westminster. The staff, professors and students have made every day meaningful.”
