Rebecca Brown
Major: Arts Administration Minor: Studio Art
Hometown: Salt Lake City, Utah

Rebecca grew up in Salt Lake City, just a few blocks from Westminster. She is an arts administration major, studio art minor, and a member of the Alpha Chi Honor Society. She has been given one of the most prestigious awards the academic community can bestow - “Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities,” one of the most highly regarded and long-standing honors programs in the nation.

During the summer of her sophomore year, she interned with the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. She got a temporary position from the internship and became the curatorial assistant. Rebecca helped with upcoming exhibitions, installing and reinstalling, learned about condition reports, and worked with returning artwork. She said, “It was an awesome experience and it really solidified my major. It was from this experience that I decided I would always want my career to have some creative element to it and hopefully down the line I will be able to work for a museum again!”

Some of her favorite Westminster memories are from just hanging out in the Giovale Library reading, and taking her ceramic jewelry May Term class - she made her own jewelry and mixed her own clay colors.

She has already started her career in March before graduation. She works for and it has been an awesome opportunity. When reflecting on her college career, Rebecca said “Westminster prepared me so well for life outside of college. The professors were always there to help whenever I had any questions and they really pushed me to work hard,” she said.

Rebecca learned to constantly be looking for ways to improve a process or situation, whether it was academic or outside the classroom, to look at a problem and work to find the right solution, which has really helped her in her current position.
