Registration Fees and Instructions:

CPR class size is limited to 15 participants.  A minimum of 4 people are needed in order to hold the class. 

  • First Aid:  $25

  • Adult CPR with AED: $25

  • Adult and Child CPR with AED and Infant CPR: $35

  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Health Care Provider: $50.00

  • Adult CPR/AED Review Class:  $10.00

  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Health Care Provider Review CLass:  $15.00

How to Register for a CPR or First Aid Course

To register for a course, please stop by the Health, Wellness and Athletic Center Reception Desk or registration can be done over the phone with a credit card by calling Traci Siriprathane at 801.832.2862.  Payment is due at the time of registration.  NOTE: In order for a course to be taught, a minimum of five (5) participants are required.

 
About Our First Aid and Safety Courses  

The Fitness, Wellness, and Recreation Department offers a variety of American Red Cross CPR and First Aid courses to best meet your needs, whether it be for employment requirements, personal knowledge, or to fulfill certain degree requirements/prerequisites. In addition to basic First Aid, we offer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Adults, Children, and Infants, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training for Adults and Children.


CPR and First Aid Course Descriptions

All American Red Cross courses are designed to help participants identify and eliminate potentially hazardous conditions in their environment, recognize emergencies and make appropriate decision for first aid care.

 
Requirements for successful course completion and certification are ---

  • Attending and participating in all activities, skill sessions and skill scenarios.
  • Correctly Demonstrating all required skills.
  • Correctly answering at least 80 percent of the questions in each section of the written exam.


All American Red Cross CPR and AED course completion certificates are valid for 1 year.  First Aid course completion certificates are valid for 3 years.

Classes Currently Offered:

Adult CPR with AED - 4.5 hour class

Adult and Child CPR with AED and Infant CPR – 6.5 hour class

First Aid – 4 hour class

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Health Care Provider – 8 hour class

Review and Challenge Courses Also Available

Review Courses
The purpose of a review course is to provide individuals with the opportunity to review the course content within a formal class setting. The participants will view the video segments and have the opportunity to practice and perform the skills for evaluation and complete the written exams for the courses being reviewed. To be eligible to participate in a review course the participant must possess a current American Red Cross certificate. Non-certificate holders may not participate in the review course option.


Challenge Courses
The purpose of a challenge is to provide individuals with the opportunity to demonstrate their skill and knowledge competency outside of the formal class setting. The participant has sole responsibility in preparing for the knowledge and skills testes. Anyone is eligible to participate in the challenge. Individuals who do not hold a current American Red Cross certificate (or equivalent) may participate in the challenge option one time only. Individuals who possess a current American Red Cross certificate(s) (or equivalent) may challenge as often as they like, as long as the certificate(s) remain current.
