Great Salt Lake Institute Was excited to present an interdisciplinary panel discussion on Salt

Panelists and their unique perspectives Include:

  • Matt Caputo of Caputo's Market helped us explore the culinary aspects of salt.
  • Bill White, geologist from the University of Utah helped us understand the geology of the Bonneville Salt Flats.
  • Westminster's very own Hikmet Loe will discussed Great Salt Lake salt in art.
  • Jessie L. Embry from the Redd Center for Western Studies talked about racing and mining on the Bonnelville Salt Flats.
  • GSLI's Director Bonnie Baxtor acted as panel moderator.

  • A salt tasting at 6:30 pm by Matt Caputo.
  • After the panel discussion Westminster student Max Rutherford shared his 5 minute time-lapse video of the creation of SALTWORKS at 8:00 pm in Meldrum Science Center!
