The Great Salt Lake Institute's Open Invitation
We welcome your participation in our study of Great Salt Lake. We want to hear from you, whether you're a scientist, a poet, a performance artist or an elementary school teacher. We are interested in helping people make connections to enhance study, understanding and appreciation of the lake and its surroundings.
The institute is committed to:
- Developing a more systemic understanding of GSL and its relationship to the environment and the economy;
- Fostering local, regional, and international cooperation and collaboration among educational institutions, public agencies, and private organizations to build and sustain important research programs;
Facilitating dialogue and problem solving on the compatability of development and preservation;
- Enhancing learning among colleges and university students from various disciplines by encouraging their participation in the design and execution of research and other scholarly activities;
- Contributing to the science and environmental education of K-12 students by linking teachers to project opportunities and linking curriculum to ongoing GSL research activities.
Please sign up for our membership directory and share your interests with others who are seeking to increase their awareness of activities involving the lake.
