Senior Projects

Students who wish to complete a senior project as one of the requirements towards the Honors degree should find a sponsor within their major discipline and then enroll for at least 3-hours of thesis credit in that discipline. A student whose major does not require the senior project or does not have a senior project course should work with the director of the Honors program to identify a research sponsor and receive credit for the thesis work.

A special Honors thesis designator (HON 402) accommodates cross-disciplinary theses or senior projects in majors without a thesis requirement. All Honors students doing thesis work are required to fill out a thesis topic approval form and a thesis completion form, which are available in the Honors office. Honors thesis work must also be presented orally in some fashion, at Westminster's undergraduate research fair, at a regional or national conference, or at another appropriate setting.
