Almost all Honors students receive generous financial aid packages from Westminster College as a result of their outstanding performance in high school. Rankings for that scholarship money take into account many factors, including performance in high school AP classes and on AP exams. The Honors program does everything in its power to support its students' quest for other forms of monetary support, including funding for various research opportunities and post-graduate scholarships.
The program offers one annual Honors Academic Excellence Scholarship to an incoming Honors student who shows exceptional promise in the areas of academic excellence, campus leadership and visibility, and who demonstrates a good fit with the unique learning approach of honors. While the amount of the award will vary, the scholarship makes up the difference between the highest college-awarded scholarship and Westminster tuition. The scholarship allows the recipient to devote the majority of his or her time to educational pursuits and leadership opportunities. This annual scholarship is renewable for up to four years, provided the student maintains a 3.5 GPA, or better and continues as a full-time student. Click here for an application.
The Honors program also makes two $3,750 awards annually for students engaged in summer research and typically many other Honors students receive summer funding from the college through their Honors research applications. Click here for more information on this program.
