The Institute for New Enterprise at Westminster College is seeking two (2) talented students to lead and manage the 2009-2010 Opportunity Quest business plan competition. A $2,500 stipend will be paid to each co-director to successfully launch Opportunity Quest in September 2009, leading to a final Awards Banquet in January 2010. The co-director position is a 5-month, part-time leadership position that is flexible with students’ class schedule. Institute for New Enterprise
The mission of the Institute for New Enterprise is to help individuals create organizations that promote independence and self-sufficiency, and make significant contributions to our communities. To accomplish this, the Institute provides extensive training in the skills of entrepreneurial leadership: innovating, validating, planning, funding and launching new ventures. The Institute offers an exciting learning format that bridges the gap between formal education and real-world experience.
Participants take part in courses, workshops, field experiences, competitions and personal mentoring. Learning and mastering the skills of entrepreneurship prepares individuals for successful careers in creating new ventures, developing existing corporations and building community organizations.
The Institute for New Enterprise prepares students for:
- Business Entrepreneurship - conceiving, planning, launching and leading new for-profit business ventures
- Corporate Entrepreneurship - Innovating new products, services, processes and divisions in existing corporations
- Social Entrepreneurship - creating and leading a variety of enterprises designed to address community challenges and opportunities
