North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) - This U.S. Census Bureau site is useful for searching "difficult" industries. Use this site to find the NAICS/SIC code for the industry. The codes can then be used to retrieve data such as the number of establishments, receipts, and payroll.

Business Source Premier from EBSCOhost - Contains articles from scholarly and trade business journals on companies, industries, products, management, marketing, accounting, real estate, finance, insurance, business law, and technology.

Value Line Research Center - Provides industry commentaries on approximately 100 industries. Select 'Look up Industry' to browse a list of the industries.
