Books
Books are divided into fiction and non-fiction . Most of fiction consists of "made-up" (imaginary) materials. Novels and short stories are fiction. At the Giovale Library, fiction falls under the broader category of literature.

Non-fiction is based on facts and research. Books about science, popular culture, anthropology, criminal justice, and literary criticism are all examples of non-fiction.

It can take months, years, even decades to write a book. Because of this, books can provide you with in-depth knowledge and historical perspectives on your topic. Books can also put you in touch with the wisdom and reflections of authors who have spent much of their careers investigating your topic, and whose opinions about it have been formed by years of research.
