Management Books

There are several ways to look for books on management. You can search the Giovale Library catalog by using Horizon. You can also search eBooks for management books. There is also a list of interesting management books that Giovale Library owns. The links below will get you stated on your quest to find the right management book for you.

Searching Horizon

Horizon is the Giovale Library's online catalog. The catalog lists books, journals, media, and other materials owned by Giovale Library.

You cannot search the online catalog for articles. Use databases, such as EBSCOhost and/or ProQuest for article searches.


Horizon offers three different ways to locate library materials:

Basic

This page lets you do both Keyword and Alphabetical searching from one search page
To do a Basic search:
1. Choose the type of search you want from the drop-down index
2. Enter your term(s) in the search window
3. Click on "go

Keyword(s) Search

• Keyword(s): Use this search if you do not know the correct Subject Heading of your topic! Enter any word or words that best describe your topic. The system will retrieve any record(s) that contain the word(s). If no records are found, repeat your search using other words.
• Author Keyword: Includes: corporate authors (telephone will retrieve Bell Telephone Symposium on Biological Control, 1969. Boston)
Title Keyword: Enter word(s) of the title. The system will retrieve all items that contain the word(s) in the title.
• Subject Keyword You must use the Library of Congress Subject Headings to retrieve all items available on your topic.

Alphabetical Search

Author Alphabetical List: Enter last name first name : Faulkner William
Title Alphabetical List: Enter the correct title of the item. No need to enter initial articles (a, an, the).
Subject Alphabetical List: This search uses controlled vocabulary; the Library of Congress Subject Headings! In a subject search only those records will be located where your search term appears in the subject field of that record.

The Search results are displayed in alphabetical order. You can scroll the list and choose the entry you want.

The numeric search lets you look for items by the following numbers:
• LC Call Number
• ISBN

eBooks

What is an eBook?

The term eBook applies to published materials, such as reference books, scholarly monographs, and consumer books that have been converted into digital format for electronic distribution. eBooks are much more powerful than traditional books. eBooks are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week--from any location in the world. (from netLibrary)

NetLibrary is a collection of electronic books (ebooks) which also uses the LC Subject Headings. You must register from a PC located on Westminster Campus. Once you are registered, you can access netLibrary from anywhere. All netlibrary books are listed in the Horizon catalog.

Ebrary provides online access to over 13,000 authoritative titles with concentrations in Business & Economics, Computers & Technology, Humanities, the Social Sciences, and                                 more. Most books are listed in Horizon, our online catalog.

Safari Tech Books Online gives you online access to 165 technical books in the following categories:
