Electronic Reserves Information for Students

If you have used Electronic Reserves before, Connect to My WebCT

If you have never used Electronic Reserves, you need:

1.  A computer equipped with:

  • Internet access

  • A web browser

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader which is installed on all campus PCs (or may be downloaded at home by clicking on the Adobe icon)   

2.  To be formally registered in the course you wish to access.

How to Login to WebCT for Electronic Reserves:

If you are already enrolled in a class that uses WebCT, then you will use the same login and password that you always use. Electronic Reserves will be listed on your My WebCT page, and you can access your reserve readings from there.
Connect to My WebCT

If you have never used WebCT before, then make note of the following login structure:

  • Username: Your Username is your first initial, middle initial, and last initial + the month and date of your birth date. All letters should be lower case. (i.e. John Jim Doe's birthday is May 21 -- his Username is jjd0521).

  • Password: Your Password is set initially to be your full social security number without hyphens. (i.e. John Jim's Social Security Number is 987-65-4321-- password is 987654321).

How do I know if my class reserve items are available electronically?

As much as possible we will place on electronic reserve copies of articles, pages of class notes, solution sheets, and other short items. We will not scan in entire books or odd sized items that do not scan well. We will notify professors via email once their item is available electronically.
