Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)
Master of Arts in Teaching degree is ideal for those who have completed a bachelor's degree and want to teach at the Kindergarten to 12th grade levels

MAT Program Overview

In the Master of Arts in Teaching program you will:

  • Learn how students learn
  • Learn how to teach using active, hands-on teaching strategies
  • Learn how to differentiate instruction
  • Research the funds of knowledge your students bring to the classroom that you can build upon in your teaching
  • Develop lessons that connect to students’ lives and interests as well as the Utah Core Curriculum
  • Apply what you learn in multiple classrooms with supervision by Westminster faculty
  • Learn how to assess your students’ knowledge, skills, and interests before you teach, while you teach, and at the end of the lesson or unit so you can document their progress
  • Learn to select and use the latest technologies to enhance your teaching
  • Experience the richness of Mexican history and cultures through a travel seminar

Program Options:

Intramural Sports Leagues: Basketball; Flag Football; Soccer; Volleyball.
