Student Mentoring Program
The Student Mentoring Program is designed to pair incoming freshmen with Westminster students in mentoring relationships. Mentoring groups will consist of two mentors and 2-3 mentees. The program aims to build positive learning communities on campus, guide new students to learn about our culture, and help freshmen become engaged in the Westminster experience. Mentors plan and facilitate meetings for their mentee group on adjusting to campus life (both academically and socially) and provide informal coaching and advising for mentees throughout the academic year.
Mentors are expected to participate in up to 20 hours of training during the Spring 2014 semester and dedicate 5 hours per month to their mentoring position during the 2013-2014 academic year.
Successful mentors are flexible, perform multiple roles, and approach topics through a variety of lenses. Mentors are leaders in the Westminster community and serve as colleagues who help students navigate their Westminster experience.
