Westminster's Montessori Programs

The courses are taught on the campus of Westminster College, Salt Lake City, Utah
2013-14 Schedule:
Eight week summer session, June 10-August 2. Classes meet five days per week, 8:00am to 4:30pm. The summer session is followed by a year’s supervised practicum in an approved Montessori school, and bi-weekly seminars
Two Options:
- Credential only (no college credit)
- Master of Education degree (the Montessori courses plus four additional courses for the M.Ed.)

Credential only:
Early Childhood: $7,300 plus materials and fees
Lower Elementary: $7,126 plus materials and fees
Administration: varies, depending on courses taken
Master of Education: $675 per credit hour
Early Childhood (32 credit hours)
Lower Elementary (34 credit hours)
Administration (34 credit hours)
Federal loans are available for students in the M.Ed. program.
Housing:
Students who live far from Salt Lake City may stay in a nearby hotel at monthly rates. There are some student-sublet apartments near the campus that are available in the summer as well.
Distance Option:
Students carrying out the year-long practicum far from Salt Lake City will be able to participate in the school-year seminars through distance learning. They will need to return to Salt Lake for two or three long weekends during the year for intensive methods courses.
Accreditation:
The Institute for Montessori Innovation is accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council on Teacher Education (MACTE) and affiliated with the American Montessori Society (AMS).
