Applying to Westminster's Montessori Programs

If you are applying to the Credential-only program (not the masters program):

  1. A completed application form and a $50 nonrefundable application fee;

  2. An official transcript from each postsecondary institution attended, and two official transcripts showing the highest degree earned. If the applicant does not have a baccalaureate degree, an official high school transcript or GED is also required;

  3. Two letters of recommendation completed by individuals who can attest to the intellectual ability, professional competence and leadership ability of the applicant. Letters should include how long and in what connection the individuals have known the applicant;
  4.  A personal statement in essay format, indicating the applicant’s background of experience in working with children, the credential level the student wishes to earn (Early Childhood or Elementary I), the applicant’s reason for applying to the Montessori program and the personal talents/experience the applicant will bring to the program;
  5.  A copy of any Montessori credential(s) already held
  6. A personal resume detailing professional work experience to include relevant job titles, work experience, responsibilities, and related activities
  7. Administration students must provide proof of demonstrated administrative ability in school finance, legal, licensing, curriculum administration, personnel and supervision, program planning, and evaluation. Acceptable evidence may include at least one of the following:
  • A copy of an approved and valid state license or certificate for school administration
  • Proof that applicant is a currently practicing or experienced school administrator with at least three years of experience
  • Proof that applicant is in the process of completing a state recognized collegiate program leading to a license as a school administrator or equivalent required by state/school


Upon completion of the application, you will be contacted for an interview with Nancy Lindeman, Director of the Institute of Montessori Innovation.
