Westminster's Master of Professional Communication Program

MPC students discuss theoretical and practical application

In today's fast-paced electronic world, it takes effective communication to get results. The Westminster Master of Professional Communication (MPC) program is designed to help individuals enhance their communication skills and develop expertise in a specialized communication field.

The Master of Professional Communication (MPC) program and the related Communication Certificates are designed to prepare writers and communication experts for positions in business, industry, government, or any other organization where communication skills are essential. MPC classes are held during evenings and on weekends, and you may enroll in as many or as few courses as your schedule allows.

The program consists of 38 credits of coursework designed to give you a solid foundation in various aspects of communication. Three of those credits are your field project, a capstone course that serves as the culmination of your MPC studies. You also choose an emphasis: writing, a unique emphasis that you develop with the aid of a faculty advisor, or an emphasis based on one of the suggested models:

  • Communication Management
  • Information Technology
  • Marketing Communication
  • Multimedia

The models also serve as the basis for Graduate Communication Certificates, designed for students who do not want to complete a master's program but want to take courses to develop a specialized skills set.

Westminster is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.
