SCHEDULE A LIVE AUDITION or a preview lesson

We invite any prospective Music majors and minors to contact us to schedule a campus tour, sit in on a class or receive a free preview lesson with Westminster Music Faculty.  Auditions for entrance into the Music Department are held annually in January, February, and March. However, music scholarships are given priority to those that audition or submit a DVD/Video audition before March 1st. It is strongly recommended to schedule your audition as early as possible in order to be considered for music scholarship awards.

To schedule your audition or a free preview lesson with an Artist Faculty, please contact:
Kimi Kawashima, Music Outreach Director
(801) 832-2379
kkawashima@westminstercollege.edu

Schedule your audition today! All prospective students auditioning for Music major status must also complete a Westminster College application by the date of the audition. The college application may be completed here or on campus at the time of the audition (in which case the application fee is waived).

Audition requirements:

  • Instrumental: Two memorized pieces from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic or 20th/21st Century eras.

  • Voice: Two memorized songs from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th/21st Century eras, or Musical Theatre repertoire.

  • If requiring an accompanist, please provide music that is legible, bound or prepared for a 3-ring binder.

Music Selection Recommendation: Prepare music that is representative of different styles and periods of composition to highlight your ability and talent. These works should demonstrate your musicianship and technical proficiency to their best advantage.

Audition by Mail (Out of State and International Students)
